Install a IOS30 WAD?

And it's better to patch the system menu to IOS249 with Preloader.
Because then if the system menu doesn't load or IOS249 is deleted, just load up Preloader and remove the patch.

Just so long as you don't make Preloader depend on IOS249 as well.

Anyone figured out how to replace the "Healthscreen" with something personal instead of the "backmenu" option?
I've been dredging through my nand dump to find just where the Healthcreen resides in the first place but with no luck.

Any hints?

Problem: Looks like preloader is using IOS30 too, because absolutely nothing happens (except for the DVD drive making noise) when I press on the power button.

I deleted my IOS30 again after I got back my Wii.
I thought it was safe, because I had preloader installed.

Same problem as before:
No screen.

On + Reset doesn't help.

Any possibility to repair it using preloader without sending it in again?
If not, maybe SaveMii?
WTF...Why??

Oh Shit sounds like a mean Brick??? Why may i ask did you do that You got to send it in again

The system menu uses IOS30, that is why your wii isn't working. What was you thinking

It's in the mix... I've seen 2 different demos of the safety screen changed... so it's just a matter of time before someone has released one...whether it uses Nintendo code I do not know... but I could careless either way.. I am just as excited to see something happen with this hack.

As for Twofive... didn't you read the last message I responded to when you were messing with ios30 before??? I mean dude... Wiipower was highly, highly recommending you to stop messing with ios30 and then you went and did it again??? If you would have read up on this before you did it.. you would have known what the consequences were of doing it...evidently you didn't it !

I think you need to give up Wii homebrew before you end up bricking yourself!

About the menupatcher... I was thinking... and I can't remember if anyone said this before.. but this morning I reburned Donkey Kong Jungle beats japan with it patched to my region lUSA 1] and I got it to show up in the disc channel this way but when it went to actually load the game.. my screen went green... ok... so that tells me that the banner was made to my region, correct? because it shows in the disc channel.. but once I hit "start" this is when it goes back to it's native game region?? If this is the case... would it be possible to patch more of .iso with more code for using a tool that not only patches the title/channel of the disc...but what about patching the section that starts loading the game with a special tool?? Could this be possible or am I totally barking up the wrong tree?? because when I used regoin frii on disaster day of crisis from pal to ntsc/usa it shows in the disc channel as well as loads perfectly from the disc channel... so why is that disaster day patches fine with region frii and junglebeats doesn't??

Maybe I am missing something or overlooking...

What we have been patching at the time is the main.dol, we just tell him to use the PAL/NTSC-U/NTSC-J part of it, so if some game (like DKJB) doesn't have the PAL and/or NTSC-U info in it, there is no way we can make the game plays in our consoles, thats is why the region free was made sometimes in the console, so the Wi can read whatever info is inserted with the disc, no locks because of different region, and all of the SysMenu are the same, what changes is the languages in it, and all of the text in those languages, obviously also the locks are different or they are in different entries, but the base is the same..!!!

BTW: Twofive, stop trying to do homebrew in your Wii OR, read read read read read (

you need a way to make the disc channel set itself by the disc video mode and language if its jap, then theres the issue of video patching for people with crap tv's or in ntsc areas if you can find a way to do that starfall patches will do the rest

Well.. ok I found it. Got it modified and repacked upto the ARC file. Now I just need to know how to convert from ARC to ASH before I inject it into the SYSMENU from my dump.

Any hints on how thats done? I've seen that their doesn't seem to be a ASH compression tool, just decompression.

I finally got my system menu health screen modified, with a little help from others Its really trial and error, and i bricked once, But i recovered Just letting you know you better have a backup Plan when you Brick, Cause i can guarantee your going to
Now i only wish i could implement a better Logo, Cause man i suck at them.lol

Not to mention that Health screen isnt that big of a deal. Seriously, A bricked wii is worthless and with your skill we could use you more if you tried to fix this region problem moreso than fix the healthscreen.

thats funny. i was thinking about the same thing. the only thing that stopped me was i didnt want to downgrade my wii to do so.

me too! Cause then a person could try moving the patches to 3.3 or 3.4, course to have to put trucha back into 3.4 and the IOS, but it'd be nice to be "up-to-date"
