I pre-ordered a next gen console last year, picked it up already. It's called the Wii U, and it is in fact classed as next gen.

No, i very rarely buy at launch, mainly due to lack of money, I'm sure I'll buy the PS4 at some point like the Wii U, but it will be when I can afford it.

It looks like the Nintendo fanboys are here to stay. I am waiting to see which one has the most good games that I am into before making a decision so for me its a "No" By the way for all those people who choses happy with the WiiU is that right now or will be once the games start to roll out for it starting in August?

Nope, tbh none of the next gen systems have any games that I'm interested in, the PS4 is clearly aimed mostly towards western gamers with linear shooters and action games, so I'll likely be going Nintendo only next gen.

At least let the consoles actually get released...

I've owned every single PlayStation since release and the PS4 is the first system which has me completely uninterested. And this coming from someone who plays mostly PS consoles.

I plan on preordering the PS4 sometime soon. The Xbox One interested me slightly because of the good launch title lineup it has, but then Sony backslapped me into reality by showing off inFamous, Knack, PSN+ deals, and of course Final Fantasy 15 as well as Kingdom Hearts 3. The pricing of the X1 along with the Kinect that I won't be able to use without going outside was also a large part in this choice. I can get a PS4, a game, and a year of PSN Plus for the same price if not a little less than a X1 console alone.

Microsoft's usage of gamers as a sort of test subject for their consumers is a big no, no. It's like they said "Hey lets try this". *Consumer reacts badly to it* "Oh sorry guys our mistake lets take this away" "Oh and here take some free games as well". Sort of like beating the consumer up, and then offering a hand to help them back up. And now with the recent betrayal of changing the free games they promised Gold members at E3 to a Xbox Live Arcade game. No thanks.

That is all.

I pretty sure he meant home consoles, unless you meant Ouya or Steam box?

Why would you get a nVidia Shield?

I have an Ouya. It's improved a lot in the past couple weeks, which is nice. I don't consider it next-gen.

I meant the nVidia Shield, and I'm not going to nitpick about what someone else meant. My answer to the poll was "No" and I'm not actually arguing that nVidia Shield should be on the list.

I want one because I've seen some hands-on videos with it, I already have a compatible nVidia graphics card and a worthy Steam collection, as well as a decent Android collection courtesy of Humble Bundles. Isn't really worth my time to elaborate thoroughly, already owning hundreds of games on Steam and the necessary hardware to play them with the Shield.. and also to use the Shield standalone as an utterly superior Android gaming system is enough to make it worth my $350.

Really, the only consoles I've paid retail for since the PS2 were all handhelds, with the exception of the Kickstarter for Ouya. PC just offers so much more and it's something I'll always have access to.

I'm interested in hearing more about the Steam box of course but I'm already so enamored with the Shield, that I probably won't budget for it even if it does have any advantages over owning a gaming PC. The only advantage I can think of that Steam box could definitely offer over owning a PC is reduced power consumption..

unless i start seeing some good first party 3d platformers again (not movie based), some more kart racers, and some more turn based stragety games, i dont think i will be buying one. i mean it seems like the only games are coming out are fps games, sport games, action games, and 2d platformers.
