Hi all,

I just bought a 2DS for Pokemon Y, as I suspect a lot of other people have. I am a huge fan of roguelikes, and I'm trying to track down a copy of Shiren the Wanderer, but I also want to play POWDER. However, I can't seem to figure out how to. The instructions on the website state just to copy it to an SD card and you can play it, but it won't do it. Any tips or suggestions? Thank you!

You've gotta have a flashcard. There's currently no way to play .nds files straight from the 3DS/2DS SD slot.

Any flashcard that is compatible with the current 3DS/2DS firmware will do.

I thought you opened a 2ds with powder on it. :rofl2:
No, you cannot get a flash cartridge at Target. There are a few sites where you can buy a ds flash cartridge. DsTwo is a good cartridge.

Personally I'd recommend the Supercard DSTWO. It's the most expensive, but it's proven to be more reliable than any of the other ones out there so far, and I use one myself.

These are things that you need to buy online. You're not gonna find these in any big box stores FOR SURE, maaaybe in a small mom and pop game store but I doubt that because these would cut into their sales of actual games. The three websites I would consider buying from:

realhotstuff.com/realhotstuff.hk (.com - ships from US, a few dollars more expensive and you have to pay shipping but you'll have it very quickly. .hk - ships from Hong Kong, a few dollars cheaper and free shipping but it's gonna take about a month to get to you)
zhuzhuchina.com - tried and true site. Ships from Hong Kong.
nds-card.com - tried and true, ships from Hong Kong, official sponsor of GBAtemp.net (yes, this site) so purchases there help this site out bit by bit.

Flashcard is what lets you play DS roms (not 3DS) and DS Homebrew, so you need a compatible flashcard, a microSD, then you have to set up the kernel for the card (a matter of copying files to the microSD), put your ROMs and homebrew on it, then put it in like a normal game.

It's not difficult if you can handle downloading a few things and can navigate through Windows Explorer (or the equivalent if you're using a non-Windows computer, basically know how to copy stuff to and from a flash drive)
