my download is actually throttled because i surpassed my data cap, i get upward to 50Mbps actually, which isn't bad, but the ping is what saddens me the most

you know, it's funny, we just got an ad for hughesnet
50GB cap w/ 25Mbps is the max here, much better than what we currently suffer through
but that ping tho

also i've heard that they barely ever do what they say, and $130/month is perfectly fine but like $600 to buy all the equipment...
and their customer service is shitbaskets

They advertise 25Mbps but I actually get 50Mbps for some reason. There is a cost for the equipment, but i don't remember how much it was. I don't believe it cost much though. I believe you can either buy the equipment or rent it. I haven't really dealt with their customer service, it rarely has any problems
