Yes, yes, yes... I know... This isn't a picture of my custom GBA but what I do want to say is that I'm currently working on one and will post pics of the final outcome when I finish it in a few months (funds are pretty low right now).

Looks good. IMO the indigo GBA's with backlight look REAL nice.

Here's my collection of modded GBA done by me.

This one has the whole screen and front light as a packaged from the GBASP AGS001 stuffed into this GBA console using a customed ribbon cable just like the back lit version but not quite. I made a thread on this mod in the same GBA console section:

This one is my front lit modded one using the AGS001 front light panel on the OG GBA screen. It also has a dimmer chip that lets you dim down the light til it turns off and back on by pressing and hold Select then A or B button:

I know it's not a GBA, but just wanted share. My front lit GBC that I did. Cut the front light panel so it was in its correct orientation and doesn't have that annoying bright light by the buttons like you most see on YouTube and eBay. Also has a switch to turn on/off as you can see:
