Hacking possible R4i SDHC RTS timebomb

I set my system date and rtc to 31 10 2019 (today in 2 years) and the flashcart loaded with a black screen and red text saying my firmware is expired
I haven't tried any other 2019 dates just today +2 years because im at school
can anyone else get that screen with a 2019 date?

its known it has a timebomb the exact date is unknown

If you want to avoid it, try ysmenu

while i was on the bus today i was messing with the dates
i start getting that screen on 9/3/2019

just set time back to range year or buy new one next year

yeah it says it expires when i have it on 9/3/2019 and today is 10/31/2017 so its a long time until it happens but its kinda strange to chose that day

These cards always "expire" starting September.

Every year you need o either download the updated kernel from the page for it to keep working or use different kernel files.

when you extract the rar, you need to extract the files in R4SDHC YSmenu folder and put to the sd card, afterwards download this file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3xxj84uplr97z1k/R4.dat?dl=0 and put on sdcard too //

dont worry for firmware expired my i have version 2016 dual core and karnel 2016 is expired i just change karnel from www.r4isdhc.com last update 2017 and is work fine now my r4 no need ysmenu in 2019 download new update and no need to buy all years new r4 just update karnel 2019

If the team ever dies there will no longer be updates to the official firmware. that's why timebombs are BAD.

either use an unofficial kernel or just use it for NTRboot.

But the official kernel is crap anyways. Slow, stupid controls, this "battery saver" feature that turns the screens off that irritates me every time (I know that you can deactivate it) etc.

I know, I am just saing. Personaly I also have ysmenu on my gold pro 2017 (r4i-sdhc.com).

i actually like the official firmware over ysmenu so i just plan to roll the date back when it expires.

I only bought this one for running roms
