Homebrew Possible NFC N3DS Exploit?

I dropped my 3ds in the toilet and it crashed. Possible exploit?

does it work consistently or did it only happen the once, i tried to replicate the bug but now my 3ds won't turn on so it must be in haxor mode.....what directory should i copy my roms to now

Even though people are trying their hearts out to troll.. This may lead to something for the N3DS being hacked. Whether or not it happens is above my pay grade.

if this was a entry point it would be found with or without pointless threads on the matter, so i personally go open a thread for every feature of the 3DS saying "possible exploit", microphone possible exploit?, IR possible exploit? wifi possible exploit?, internet possible exploit?, youtube possible exploit?....maybe list every game too.....so when/if any of those things lead to an exploit i can say i thought of it first or some other pointless bs despite my threads being irrelevant to the discovery/creation of said exploit

Let's be honest here. 90% of whatever is posted on GBATemp is absolute crap.. Either questions by people who can't read or baseless speculations.

Everyday there are more threads created that really aren't necessary. This one has room for discussion. The hate it's received so far is pretty pointless.

yes despite a lot of crap being here, it doesn't mean it should be free reign to just post whatever pop into your head or nobody would find any info on here, in the past few days alone i have seen about 10 of these "possible exploit" threads that contain nothing but "******** possible exploit", no info, no foundation, and they are getting even lazier by now asking regardless of even finding a crash in the system......the "my 3ds crashed possible exploit?" threads where enough, we don't need, "i have absolutely zero reason to think this, but is **** a possible exploit?"

i mean i do like to follow the homebrew section and its getting bogged down as of late with all these threads over nothing at all

Yup. I'd rather have threads spouting theories, even without plausible reason than half the garbage posted.

yeah its just a bit crappy seeing more posts about nothing while there is lots of fun and interesting homebrew being developed that is being pushed to page 2-3 so people miss it just so "possible exploit?" threads can be made, i know i have overlooked a few things as they haven't been on the first page by the time i come to check out the homebrew section, and a few other people have missed stuff for the same reason,the threads are unnecessary, at least with someone actually finding a system crash despite 99% of the time being useless, there is still a very slim chance of it actually being something, but with these threads there is nothing at all to them

They provide a chance at actual conversation. I guess they should be moved to EoF for the relevance they don't have though.

Very likely. The new international passports were hacked pretty quickly, and you'd assume they would have the best protection in the world.
Now, it probably isn't easy and needs a lot of math knowledge...

I also figured out you can charge you N3DS by putting it in a microwave for 666 minutes. This also increases the battery life too.

• That's about as useful as saying "Start your online personals ad with a fancy word like 'indubitably' and get laid!", you're missing about 75 steps in-between the start and finish. The 3DS will only naturally run code that's signed, just feeding it custom code through some interface will do nothing.

these "ideas" and "suggestions" are nothing new and virtually never lead to anything, there isnt even any technical depth to it, its just throwing words about like "maybe its encrypted", or "inject a payload".....unless someone breaks the security on the NFC feature, and finds a viable exploit its not really got much to discuss other than pipedreams and fantasizing

no, but see the quote "lets hack the 3DS through NFC....its not a new idea, as soon as the new 3ds was announced people where making this kind of post, saying something doesnt make it doable, having zero technical backing doesn't make a hack, a hack in nfc would be discovered firstly by someone figuring out the encryption, data types, finding an exploit in a game that utilizes the NFC function which may not even exist....this thread would not make someone go do those steps the same way as me saying "lets rob a bank" doesn't equal "a viable bank heist plan".......lets cure cancer with drugs.......does me saying that mean anything at all? should we all sit around and discuss my amazing revelation? no, as i said i don't want to be a party pooper, but i really think these threads need to be merged into a "spout random ideas here" sticky or something to keep the main forum on topic with actual homebrew/developments or stuff with actual foundation

sorry i just want to be clear im not wanting to be mean, and its not about any particular thread, its just happening an awful lot lately i would be happy for people to discuss idea's and just have a chat about what they think might work, just as long as its not the whole homebrew forum covered in new threads for each idea

again i apologize to anyone who was offended, i think i might of came across a bit harsh, i like having random brainstorming stuff, even if it is baseless, i think people could enjoy doing that kind of stuff more if it was more centralized as its not really all that related to homebrew, but i wouldn't object to there being a dedicated thread for collecting peoples ideas and letting people debate them in a nice tidy and friendly manner, feel free to tell me to get stuffed and out of your thread
