well, it seems that the information comes from revolutiontt.net.
Don't have an account there...
Are these a trusted source of information...?

I find it quite strange that such a big news goes by almost unnoticed... I'm starting to be tempted to say "FAKE!"....

If this is legit, It would be GREAT, all this is happening so soon though, it has not been long since they managed to run code on the wii in wii mode

I hope is true, I haven´t installed any chip waiting for one let´s call it 2gen chip,, it would be great if it also allow us to play snes and n64 roms..

So they completely reverse-engineered both the wii's operating system and its hooks, wrote their own I/O, graphics, and sound libraries to link with a self-made compiler, wrote a wii application wrapper, designed and already produced and shipped a chip.

Right. Of course they did.

you don't have to write your own I/O, you could use libraries and already available I/O concepts - I estimate an effort of no more that 5 man/days to make up something like a proof of concept app.
Whats with the libraries and compiler? Ever browsed through a GC-Image? They obiously used VS6 for some games :-)
Chances are if the encryption is broken, you can easily create homebrew.

It sounds too good, but still if the Wii is hackable, Wii not?

Anyway, I never be sure until I see it with my own eyes/Wii :-p
