Curious to see what browsers are popular around here, please vote for the one you use and state your reason why you chose it over other browsers.

As for myself, I prefer Chrome for its speed/stability/simplicity, and the add-ons are great.

Was also going to ask about mobile browsers.. I used to use Opera, now I use Dolphin on my Note 2, it has much better tab management than Chrome/Opera mobile.

Chrome, because it's stable, secure and isn't Internet Explorer*. I also use Firefox as an alternative if Chrome freaks out when loading HTML5/Flash.

IE is inflated, has many security exploits and doesn't render many things nearly as fast as Chrome of Firefox. The inexplicable popularity baffles me to no end

Only real reason people use IE is baby duck syndrome (look it up) and/or tech illiteracy (e.g. not even knowing what a "browser" is).

I use Chrome because on my older PCs it starts up fast and syncs with my google account (which I use on as many devices as I can) so I can just bookmark a link on my phone, watch it pop up on Chrome on my PC and use it. Plus themes and Porn Incognito mode :P

Chrome because it syncs history and bookmarks between all my devices. (Mobile too). I have FireFox as backup incase Chrome mucks up on a webpage.

Firefox.
Because of all the addons, some of which I can't do without, and I've had trouble using flash in chrome, so it looks like I'll be using Firefox for a while.

Chrome first these days but used to use Opera almost exclusively, switched a couple of .something versions back. I still keep Opera installed for back up. FF is a last resort before the final last act of desperation and loading IE...

Firefox, mainly because I've been using it for so long without problems, it's reliable, and its what I'm accustomed to. Also use a fair amount of Firefox plugins on a daily basis that I like too. Heard lots of good things about Chrome, though, just haven't had time to give it a spin.

I use firefox mostly because of its tab management, despite its flaws.
Chrome I also have open with several tabs, including my gmail stuff.

I also use Opera at times.

I use Nightly (Firefox) and Opera interchangeably using two computers. I use Nightly because I like some of its features still unreleased in the more stable Firefox and I use Opera for general browsing and searching for stuff.

I use IE10 because I find it to be fast, reliable, and highly configurable. I have never, in all honesty, had IE9 or IE10 ever crash on me. I have never been exploited through either IE9 or IE10 (IE6, 7, and 8 were a different story). It's also the only browser that ships with a built in ad blocker (AFAIK at least). It can also be set to open all pop-ups or new windows in a new tab (not possible in Chrome) and automatically delete all of my browsing history when I close it.

It's pretty damn good. The only reason people don't use it more because it has a very negative stigma associated with it from back in the IE6 days.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
