I have a DMG-01 Game Boy that’s been sat in its bag for years (without batteries!) that’s absolutely immaculate, looks 100% box fresh apart from some light scratches to the screen.

I don’t really want to disassemble it, the plastic lens replacements are poor quality and I don’t want to take away from the originality with a glass one (like I’ve done to my other DMG) so I’d want to go down the route of polishing the existing lens if possible with Novus polish or something.

Anyone ever tried this on a Gameboy? How’d it go? I did it to an old N-Gage once and while I did manage to salvage it, the lens was formed from “layers” that showed up as ridges once I started polishing the scratches out.
