Congrats, you just posted on a topic over a month old, on something abandoned none the less. Also, while it is a very well written and nice post, we have discovered most of these things already. Though thank you for your time and effort.
Really? You've discovered most of those things? I really doubt you even under stood half of what he said; so sho! Stop scaring the intelligent people away. There's no rule against reviving a thread if you can actually contribute, which he was clearly trying to do.

MONSTER POST WAS HERE

Congrats, you just posted on a topic over a month old, on something abandoned none the less. Also, while it is a very well written and nice post, we have discovered most of these things already. Though thank you for your time and effort.

Congrats, you made yourself look like an *insert curse relative to your rude behavior here of your choice* because someone who was educated in something wanted to describe in full how the Walker works to help stimulate anyone who reads this in the future, thus endowing them with knowledge on how to make something like this possible.

Also although your post was well written, it was extremely rude, and we know all of what you've said already, as such your post was much like this one here, next to wholly unnecessary. Though thank you for your time and effort in flaming/trolling someone for trying to help.

More on topic, I simply read this simply to see if there's any actual attempts to make this happen. A few edits and something like this -could- probably be possible for regular emulation (or you could do it the editted wonder card fashion, although that looks harder). I am however disappointed at everyone who is dismissing this because with their own beliefs and/or knowledge think it's impossible. I would like to state that nothing is impossible, just improbable. It would require maybe a new breed of DS Emulation card than the standards out (which might become possible if more infrared compatible games are released, or one specifically made to support Pokewalkers), or maybe for an add-on of an infrared piece like in the images provided to be expertly/skillfully added on (unsure how difficult this could be, but I've heard of crazier in my life) to their carts (despite this solution, I do not personally find it likely to occur as I lack a full knowledge of the DS board within the carts).

@CrashmanX
how can you really think is impossible? dude... there is a hack/crack for everything on this planet. some hackers have installed linux on a potato... ON A POTATO! yeah http://www.bbspot.com/news/2008/12/linux-on-a-potato.html
so yes... i believe it's possible... we just need some atention from some good homebrew developher.
That's bullshit and you know it.

@TM2: Did you read my next reply? There might be something in the PokéWalker (be it hard- or software) that blocks any IR signal but those from the retail game cart.

remember the game boy color ir port? the pokewalker will attempt to communicate and at one point even showed the walking sprite for my pokemon, before suddenly going back to the home screen. HGSS IR EMULATION IS POSSIBLE
