I have 2 3ds. One is a US 3ds xl and i recently got a Japanese 3ds with 4.3.0 firmware for gateway. Now we know that 3ds are region lock so if you put a US game on a Japanese 3ds you cant see the game. So i installed gateway and blah blab blah it works. I made a backup copy of my US Pokemon y to play on my Japanese 3ds. I put the game in my Japanese 3ds and it shows up in the gateway classic mode. So i made a backup copy of it.
Now...
something happen.. when i play the rom the rom became japanese... so i put in my original us copy in classic mode and it reads it as a japanese pokemon y. so i shut down my japanese 3ds and turn it back on and in the none gateway mode it shows the pokemon game cartridge in japanese..

But i can't play it in my mode on my japanese 3ds. But i can still play it on my 3ds xl.

Has anyone encounter this problem? help

Do you have a savegame on it?
That might be the problem -- I have Pokemon X here in Japan and it asks you to pick a language when you start up a new save file!
Try deleting your save!

Yep, you can even play the NA version of Pokemon X/Y in Japanese on an NA 3DS. It just defaults to whatever language your system is set to, so when you start a new save file on the JP 3DS, you have to choose english as the language.

Too long, and somewhat confusing.

To be clear, the rom for JP and USA Pokemon is actually the same.
Thing is, Nint/GF applied region lock on it, so the cart won't run on a different system.

Once that region lock is bypassed, the Rom will attempt change it's region to match the one of the 3DS
(which under normal circumstances, will be the same region)

For your case, to make sure I'm on the same page:
1. Your Cart is US
2. You backed up your US rom & save
3. trying to play the ROM in emunand for JP 3DS.

important details:
1. Is your US 3DS on emunand/fw 4.5 [saves made on FW > 4x won't work with FW 4.x Emunand, and vice versa]
2. Did you leave the header content intact, and renamed your rom to 3DZ before playing?

As i didnt know about the us rom and jap rom being the same i thought i did something wrong so i formatted my system and emunand..
the sysnand is 4.3.0 and since i formatted my emunand is also 4.3.0 and because of the release of firmware 8.0.0 i'm screw and stuck on 4.3.0

as for the header content I just did a straight dump of my US game cartridge and i didnt renamed it 3dz cause i dont intent to play online.

but thanks queno138 and everyone else. I think i understand what is wrong.

Is your US 3DS FW on 4x? (when you first created your Pokemon save)

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
