Gaming pokemon trainer ID's with roms?

I was wondering this earlier.

say two people use the same rom of a pokemon game, say pokemon platinum.

what happens if they try to trade pokemon? do they have the same trainer ID? does this prevent trading?

The trade continues as it normally would.

I've done that myself on many occasions. Once I was playing a copy of my Diamond save during a car trip, and I caught the perfect breeding Ditto and sent it to my original cartridge.

It doesn't get a bonus. The game still thinks the Pokemon is on the same cartridge since the trainer ID and secret ID of the game match that of the Pokemon.

ROM ID has nothing to with the trainer ID, i highly doubt it that is.

Compare both of them, they shouldn't be the same.
