Confirmed that you can do the mythical event with only the key item!

Go to mossui town and go left of nurse joy to the shop with the old woman and talk to the pink pecha plushie.
Things i did in my playthrough was take all classes, do team star event and complete BB and ofcourse main game and kitagami. Didnt complete the instructors invitations, only invited like 3.
