ROM Hack Pokemon Platinum (U)

hey, i am obviously a little nublet that has no idea how things work here. i just downloaded the most recent cheat database, hoping to get cheats for pokemon platinum. i checked the list and saw that there were cheats for both the (J) version, and another version that says (J)(English). is there a way to get cheats for the (U) version? and if the (J)(English) version has cheats, how would i go about getting that version? I have the (U) version right now, and I'm not sure that there are cheats for that version. furthermore, if I were to replace my (U) version with the (J)(English), could I still use my old save file? a retard-friendly explaination would be appreciated.

Download the cheat file appropriate to your flashcard

Unzip the file you downloaded

Replace the cheat file on your SD card with the one you just downloaded and unzipped

Insert the microSD card into your flashcard

Insert the flashcard into your DS

Switch on your DS

(can I stop now?)
