Homebrew Pokemon Platinum Pokesav

Im trying to use the pokesav on my .sav for platinum that i use on my acekard2i
but when i open the file with pokesav i cant edit anything like the name id or any of that stuff
and what i can edit doesnt show up in the game

You are opening the right save, right?

Yes.
It will only let me add like 2 letters to thew name
and its very limited as well as it doesnt work

Does anyone have an answer or know of the problem here? Im not the OP, nor do I have this problem, but a buddy of mine is having the exact same problem on the exact same game and I cant find a solution for him anywhere.
