ROM Hack Pokemon Omega Ruby Crashing

Im at the point in the game where Steve takes you to the southern island on Latias, and each time I try to walk ahead in the path the game crashes and tells me there has been an error. what do I need to do to fix this? do I need to update it? do I need to use another ROM?

Make sure you have the latest game update, and try another ROM if that doesn't help.
