Hey guys - I remember a while back there was a thread circulating that said DO NOT download any XCI files you find of this game...

I found one that was posted 3 days ago...are the newer threads legit? Or if I download the XCI is there a way for me to verify if it's legit so I do not brick my Switch?

XCI was never an issue. It was only the NSP for Pikachu. All Eevee files were fine and all XCI files were fine.

Is it possible to inject pokemon in the pokemon game then trade em?

I don't know if you know this, but the current FW (6.2) that you kind of need to be online right now doesn't support CFW (until people crack the new keys, and who knows how long that will take). So, even if someone could hack you a Pokemon, they won't be able to go online and trade you, or if they're banned, they can't trade anything to you anyway. You're basically out of luck unless you find someone with two games (at least one owned legit) and two switches (one hacked, one not).

This is not true, though. XCI files have also been an issue, there were compromised XCI versions of PLGP floating around that also contained the malware.
