I made a mistake choosing Eevee, I ended up not liking it very much T_T

gamestop/eb games will do the trade but theyll give you like $40 and you still have to pay $25 to buy the pikacu version

You can totally have Pikachu if you want.

If you don't have SXOS:
Extract your save via homebrew and change your starter Eevee into a starter Pikachu and set it's moves using PkHex on a windows pc/laptop.

If you have SXOS:
You can use the cheat function of SXOS to change your Eevee into a Pikachu.

Choose one code at a time. You can switch back and forth whenever you want.

Note: dialogues and Moves still remains the same as Eevee so you'll need to use PkHex to change your Starter Eevee into a Starter Pikachu and set the moves on a windows pc/laptop.

Everyone will act like you have an Eevee and your Pikachu will make Eevee noises. Lol Nothing I can do about that.

EDIT: On further testing the oak riding cutscene turns the Pikachu that rides on you back into an Eevee. lol

I don't know if every cutscene does this or just this one as it changes the "Riding" value from "None" to "Eevee" making eevee ride you instead of following you.
All other cutscenes don't trigger this flag so maybe you'll be fine.

Using SXOS with the code will 100% keep the riding model as a Pikachu tho.
