Homebrew PokédexDS

[Wabsta]

I just started my first homebrew project.
It's a pokédex, so you can browse all your favorite pokémon on your DS!
And because that's quite ueseless (but fun for children), it will probable going to have "where to catch in which game" things and stuff like that.

7september, what is the Pokédex capable of now?

• First 9 Pokémon are viewable.
• Scroll through them using buttons, or touchscreen.
• Different descriptions for different regions.
• Switch through the regions using buttons on the touchscreen.
• Description, name, number, and type is shown for every pokémon.
• A main menu, however, due a bug, you can't go back from the dex to the menu.
• Credits, not complete yet though.
• SKINABLE! Well, not exactly, atm there are only 2 skins, the default one made by me, and the default one, in another color, also made by me

Ooh, though I don't see myself using this (sorry!), it does have great potential. You can even go kinda in-depth with this, and make it a sort of universal Pokedex. Where to catch in all games, and lots of information on the critter.

You can even include IV stats for each one, and so on.

Yes, I think you're actually right.
It shouldn't be THAT hard.

The most annoying part of this project sounds like collecting all the information

The only real use for this kind of thing would actually be for children that don't have access to a computer or a hotspot while playing, or they could just go to serebii.net and check up whatever they want to check up on the pokédex. And I don't know if there actually are that many kids that have flash carts but it's a good idea. If you have IV/EV-calculations. Move-learning and almost rips of the Pokédex over at SPP then you might have something there. Put in some high quality pics, maybe from the anime-series describing the pokes a little more indept. It's up to you but I don't think you'll get the bounty with this one

This. I'm actually an avid user of ShoddyBattle, but I absolutely suck at team creation, so not having to constantly switch between the Team Builder window and Serebii would be a massive plus.

I recall someone wanted a Pokedex (I forget). It looks really cool. If you include "Where to Catch It" and "Movesets Recommended/Learn-able Moves," I would probably get it because it would save me time. Looks really cool. Another idea would be to add guides for the Pokemon games (eg. Crystal, Emeral, Diamond, etc).

But actually, that's not really why I'm doing this.
I know that this will never be enough to compare with stuff like Fretfury.

And I'm doing this so that I grow better at programming.

Yea I've also been trying to learn to program C++/DS Homebrew

But I haven't been doing much because of my lack of motivation

If all you want to do is get better at programming you probably shouldn't spend alot of time making this espiescally with all that information, because eventually it'll just become a project to find information and put it in. Which is boring.

Yea a group project is always a way to keep motivated as long as someone in the group is doing something

So you're getting your friend to enter all the information while you do everything else?

Sounds like he has a bigger job
