Looks like rxTools still isn't dead, lol.
Sadly, that "lol" will turn into a "what tf happened to my 3ds?" post or comment sooner or later. Unless Nintendo decides to carry out the stupid "more stability" fixes to tiny things. If nintendo decides to say "oh hey, we can screw over some people by writing to the firm partitions!" It is buggy and the people that are really stubborn to change will regret it sooner or later.... I used rxtools when the downgrading first showed up on Temp and that was really it. Literally any other CFW is better than rxtools...

11.2 is here now, RxTools will never die :rofl2:
until the games come that require 2.51 or 2.52 kernel, and they fail to boot on rxTools, and everyone will be complaining why their pokémon sun/moon or something doesn't work. may or may not be a system update that kills off a dead custom firmware.

I went from using RxTools emunand on a 6.1 sysnand to A9LH+Luma and boy it was totally worth it. Not having to deal with the DS profile exploit anymore and 100% bootrate makes it all worthwhile. But, I totally understand why people dont want to upgrade.

I have to ask the users of rxTools why they still insist on sticking with something so outdated

Is it laziness? Is it out of spite towards everyone here pushing you to move on? Is someone daring you to stay with it? Are you being paid to stay with it?

Whatever the reason may be I wouldn't take that risk on a potential brick happening in the future. It's like walking on a rickety bridge, for the time being it's holding together just fine for walking but you'll never know when it will finally collapse with you walking on it.

I could be wrong and nothing will ever happen to you guys, but isn't less than 5 mins to change it out worth it to not have that hanging over your head when you sleep?

Because I do not use rxTools for anything other than installing .cias of games. Until rxTools does not work anymore, I do not see any reason to switch. And if rxTools does indeed end up breaking in a future firmware, I highly doubt it'll cause a brick since it should be easy to switch to Luma3DS as all the rxTools haters have been saying.

Yes, you only use it to install cias. But for the people that stick with it for the tools and such can easily get screwed over. Nand backups and restores seem to be buggy af. Not sure if Rxtools+A9LH is a thing or why anyone would even use that, but since it has no firm protection it can easily be modified or overwritten. Then poof, no more A9LH for them. A cfw without precautions for things could end up very bad. People that think its a solid CFW to stay on either should think otherwise and be VERY cautious or move to something else. Even if you dont want something like Luma, there are smaller cfw's that only patch a few things and thats it. Its safer to move now, than to have a bricked/ofw 3ds in the end.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I might reinstall RxTools just to trigger people who are offended by others using it:rofl2:
Its not the fact that people are "offended", but the fact that rxtools is unstable and not updated any longer. Its called warning people of the issues at hand and showing them a safer solution. Everyone is trying to get people away from it because of the risks. Not because they are jealous or offended by it.

Even @ihaveamac agrees for god sake.

Kids legitimately believe that they are aware of their issue, but they aren't. They will be among the first who are conplaining about why shit doesn't work when their shit is finally dead. Honestly, when that day comes part of me just wants to link here or tag the people defending rxtools and not bother helping. They had plenty of time to drag one file onto their sd card, and maybe delete a few folders to solve this problem.

I definitely won't be one of those who will be complaining. As I have constantly said, if it's easy to switch to Luma3DS now, it'll be just as easy in the future if rxTools is borked.

Yeah it will be simple, but the majority of this site consists of people who will spend an hour realizing that their issue is only a 5 minute fix and will hold onto the old until the very end.

No offense but, i have personally spent a few hours trying to switch from RxTools/Rxmode -> Luma and was unsuccessful at doing so. this is my only reason for still operating on the TERRIBLE rxtools... :hateit:
Im using an old 3dsXL on 11.1u
i followed the "super easy" guide provided. and it didnt load the CFW
im comfortable w/ rx mode and so long as i can continue to update and play new games when released then i dont have an issue.
i started out with cakes -> rx then tried luma and it didnt work. and im rather competent when it comes to homebrew.

im not bashing luma, simply stating it wouldnt work for me or that i did something wrong. i just dont wanna wipe out all my saved games and start from scratch to get this cfw working.

Define "didnt work" there are literally 100+ things that fall under that.

I'm not payed to use RxTools
I copy my games using uncart, then convert them to cia and install them.
I use RxTools to install legit demo ( Pokemon m/s )
Sometimes I play with friend using wifi.

I never got any problem. I never ask for help.

I know this CAN end one day ( or not switch is coming :rofl2: )

I have 11.2 can play my cia, np bro :yaynds:

I am 27 years Old guys RxTools is not only used by child ;)

Your efficiency is stupidly low with that setup... In the time you wasted converting uncart dumps to cia, you could have setup d9 and maybe a9lh to convert a cart to decrypted cia on your console.

n3ds just has a faster and safer (than before for n3ds), but it works for both, and has since pretty much the first public implementations of a9lh

I will setup a decrypt9WIP tonight will probably take less than 5 min, than you ih8ih8h8sn0w :)

( But I will keep the test of my setup )
