My apologies for being so straight to the point, but I am really concerned here. To quickly introduce myself before going into it, my name is Gus and I live in the US. I've had my wii softmodded for about a year now, and I mostly use it to play my back up games on USBLoader GX. All the games I have work just fine. I recently joined a different site that helps and provides support for modded wii's but there is hardly any activity on that site, whereas this one seems to be quite alive and constantly active. I look forward to staying here quite a while.
Now as for the problem I am having, although probably not homebrew-related, I think it might be hack-related? IDK... See, I posted this on that other site I mentioned, but it was ignored and I am really desperate to get this problem fixed.
So I went to fire up Netflix, the way I do every night before bed, and all I get is a black screen.
I tried several times and it wasn't going past just the black screen, so I figured perhaps I'll update it... I went to the Shop Channel and it, too l, was giving me a black screen.
I decided to try the internet channel to visit the forum and read up on some tips, but the internet channel was giving me a black screen too!
So I went on my computer and searched. I found that nobody was having this problem. Everyone who ever mentioned black screen was simply not getting past the health menu, whereas I still have access to the system menu and my USBLoader(working fine by the way) and the homebrew channel.
I followed specific instructions on how to update the shop channel and using dopmii to install missing ios's and all that. In fact, all these steps lead me to updating from 4.1U to 4.3U but even that didn't fix the problem.
I've installed almost every ios in dopmii, updated the shop channel, updated netflix thru a wad, and I am still getting a black screen when I click on Netflix, internet channel, or shop channel. The reason this is making me angry is because it was working jist fine yesterday, I watched Netflix normally like always and it suddenly stopped working without any tampering.
Side note:
A similar thing had happened where USBLoader was returning me to the main system menu without me having changed anything but that problem went away when i deleted the USBLoader cfg file and let it generate a new one.
Is there a similar fix for this weird thing? I need to watch my netflix again.
