when i go into the setting it shows the games but i cant open them as they arent on the home menu

Could you be more specific about that? Why do you say you can't open any game/content? (i.e: there's no icon on HOME Menu, or icon is present but at try to open it fails, or in "Data Management" section on the 3DS content list there's an X symbol on each installed content, etc...)
PS1: a kind of visual resource file (image/video) would be great, if you can
PS2: Can you check on FBI's "titles" option if your installed contents are listed on and if can be launched normally from it?
