DYKG usually makes videos about old stuff. The information being old and/or not representative of present situation is to be expected.

Video guides are always misleading and don't provide much information unless it's a video explaining how to do soldering and other hardware mods.
for anything regarding software mods well-written guides are more elaborate and comprehensive.
Think of 3ds guide how many people it has helped, far more than any video ever did.

Who/What is DYKG anyways

Check the channel out, it has some reasonably good retro gaming content and stuff. I've been subbed for quite a while. I have yet to watch this video, so can't comment on it other than to say, nobody is an expert in everything but that does not excuse doing proper research particularly when you put yourself out there as an authority (as is the case here, really).

If you are interested in similar content, (but totally on the next level to DYKG) check out The Gaming Historian (if you haven't already). He doesn't put videos out often but I would say he's a legit historian (he has a BA in History) and his videos are well researched.

I watched that video the day it popped up in my sub feed and while there is a bit of misinformation, there's not nearly enough to warrant a whole PSA. For what it is, which is a mere trivia video and not an instructional one, it's pretty harmless.

Most people who watch DYKG are probably already aware that they make mistakes in their videos, especially since they're only brief overviews. Anyone who's actually interested enough to look into switch hacking trivia after seeing this video in particular will inevitably have any misinformation cleared up as they dig deeper.

That's not to excuse their mistakes. Pointing them out in the comments section would definitely be a good idea. However, writing a whole PSA thread on a forum used by people who, based on what's been stated in this thread, don't even know what DYKG is... that just seems a little overboard.
