Hacking Playing online with softmod

If you softmod your wii with the zelda bug, is it still safe to be online or is it like MS where you might get banned on xbox live? Just curious before I get involved in something like that -

nintendo will eventually detect you and send a virus to your wii to make the drive spin really fast and shoot the disc out at you and slit your throat.



dont mod your wii if you're weary of repercussions.

It seems safe enough, I mean, nintendo could track you if they really wanted to, but it seems unlikely that they would. There has been no evidence of them doing this thus far. I myself have a softmod and play online quite often. Up to you though.
