Hacking Playing GBA ROM Hacks?

Is it possible to load GBA ROM hacks on a Slot-1 flashcard of any kind? I'm using an M3 Real/Sakura and would like to play that pokemon gold remake... but it won't get past the GBA startup screen.

(It's impossible to search for this, trust me.)

its not working for the DS(with GBA Expansions) I tried it myself and it doesnt working. I only works with no$gba(if press start button game crashes) and on my Wii
