So I recently started looking at some stuff to play gamecube games (Specifically SSBM) online through a hacked Gamecube (http://www.geocities.com/the_psychotic_worm/ssbmonlinetutorial.htm) and it looks like you just need to boot some .dol files and have everything connected to the internet. Since I have a soft modded Wii, couldn't I do something similar to this?
Short answer: no.
Long answer: When Wii boots a gamecube game, BC shuts down all the Wii hardware, including wi-fi and USB (which means no ethernet either). Therefore Wii is incapable to acces internet while playing a gamecube game. Hacking BC to not to shut down wii hardware would be the answer, I just don't know can anyone say for sure is it even possible. And even then there would be needed very very much talented hacking to get this done.
