ROM Hack Play FE:A with dlc on a system without dlc?

Does anyone know if it is possible to play Fire Emblem Awakening without DLC with a Fire Emblem Awakening save with DLC?

The things is, according to someone one gbatemp the save for super smash bros 3ds with dlc wouldn't work on super smash bros 3ds without dlc

Weird. Worth a shot though. Worst case scenario you just reinstall the DLC, right.

It will work fine.

Smash saves that dont work is because it doesn't detect the update data that the save used.

When the proper DLC is missing, you get generic skins for DLC characters (not sure if they retain their stats - they probably don't). Also, DLC skills disappear from characters. Game is playable, but gimps the characters with skills/gear/classes that are DLC exclusive if you choose to play the game with the DLC missing.
