I downloaded PKSM onto my 3ds, but every pokemon I edit/generate doesn't pass the battle spot, link trade, link battle, GTS, or wonder trade hack check. Am I doing something the wrong way, or is there no way to get hacked pokemon to pass?

You need to build them legally. any wrong moves or stats. or where caught is going to gey flagged and ya wont be able to use them

you cant create "God/super" stat pokemon and expect to pass the check, use the legal checker within PKhex then use pksm to transfeer into game. (or PKHex to your save directly) if your unsure about whats going to pass and not.

Well when I first downloaded PKSM, I just gave pokemon Smogon movesets to test if it was working. Those didn't pass, but shouldn't they be legal? As for IVs I just set it to a random hidden power. I saw a YouTube video of someone doing this perfectly, but they were playing regular sun/moon, and I'm doing USUM. Could the ultra games just have better hack defense?

There are other things that determine if a Pokémon is legal, such as met location and level. Some of these cannot be easily edited in PKSM. You can try PKHeX as well. It allows you to generate QR codes to scan with PKSM to quickly put them in your game. (Be sure you look in settings to change the default save type from "Let's Go, Pikachu!", or export your save and load it in PKHeX.)

How do I generate the qr codes to get scanned in PKSM?

Right-click the icon of the Pokémon at the top and choose "QR!".

In PKSM, choose "Editor", then move the cursor to an empty spot (if you don't do this, the Pokémon under the cursor will be overwritten). Press L+R, or tap the camera icon in the top right. It may take some time for the camera to recognize the QR code.
