PKG installs not working after changing thermal paste

Why?

I successfully changed the paste and tested it with game disc backups with Webman that previously kicked the fan in lift off mode and all was good, but every single PKG install I try, be it a game or homebrew, they simply refuse to load and cause the PS3 to black screen freeze.

You should check your work, perhaps you got thermal paste into other components.

that's indicative of something being wrong with either the bd drive or bluetooth. maybe a cable is loose?

It was loose alright, the br drive cable wasn't even plugged in


God knows how I missed that on reassembly.
