And what do you know, 7/10.

I think it's an accurate review. I played it at Best Buy, and it's the same thing as the SNES and N64 versions, just a different setting and different objectives, and mind-numbing monotony.
I must admit though, it shows off the 3D very VERY well

Fair review. But I think they should have played the game a bit longer; The content starts to increase exponentially. (Unless I missed them saying that).

Overall, I think it's a good review. BTW, inb4nintyboys.

EDIT: Oh, wait. nvrmind.

Disregarding the price, I think it deserves at least a 7.5.

I see this more as the Wii Sports of the 3DS. Shows off some of the capability of the system, uses Miis, and offers some good gameplay. Still not stopping me from getting it, though.

That's hardly a difference considering IGN's scoring goes by increments of .5 now.

It looks like a shitty Wii Sports-styled casual game honestly. Not the Pilotwings of the SNES and N64 era (and even then, when you talk about the SNES and N64, people honestly don't instantly think "Pilotwings").

I'd give it a 6.
Looks good and all that, but it's just that damn island again.
It'd be 8 or 9 if they introduced a second island or something.
change of venue would have been appreciated.

Ouch. A full point for location?

I'd give the game a 7 just like IGN. The game is shallow, but it's a launch title, so I'm glad they gave it some slack. I also really liked the freedom, but that's also present in the Wii Sports Resort version.

To be honest, they basically just ripped the flying part out of WSR, added some new planes and 3D, and sold it for 40 bucks.

That's Nintendo for you.

Exactly why it's getting a point knocked off.

Really annoys me, even more so after Iwata's attack on iphone games and their prices.
Steel Diver for 40 dollars is the stupidest thing I ever heard.
They've been getting worse at game quality since the wii imo, and at gdc he talks about how quality their games are.
Hiding behind a price isn't quality. It's price-gouging.

7.0 - Lasting Appeal - There are plenty of missions to complete and items to collect. Plus you can always attempt to beat your own times. Shame your friends can’t play with you though.

Did they lower that score aspect partially because it doesn't include multi-player? That's like giving OoT a lower score because it doesn't have the option of letting a 2nd player control Navi's annoying spurts ("HeyListenListenHeyHeyListenHello!"). Some games aren't meant to include extra players, and just because "in this day and age" we are able to connect to each other, doesn't mean we should. Now, I'm not saying they are wrong on all accounts of their review, but that one just stuck out to me, and gave me the impression of the reviewer that they expect any multi-player opportunity, even if it doesn't suit the game.

I'm pretty sure muit-player could have been put in well just like Wii Resort vs OOT.

That my only problem with this game.

*Announcement Pilotwings 2 now with muti-player.*

IGN criticised Pilotwings 3DS for the wrong reasons. Apparently the game only takes an afternoon to finish.
Gamelength is pretty important to me, sadly that isn't Pilotwings strength.

Ugh, it's IGN........

Anyway, I'm still getting it because I've never played PilotWings before.

Looks pretty good, pre-ordered this and Monkey Ball. I like a short burst pick-up-and-play game for my handhelds.

The game seems like it would be a great buy if there was more content. Ive been hearing these same sentiments echoed since Japanese reviews started crossing over.
