What do I win now?

are you serious?
Yup. I've found zero confirmation that homebrew is impossible past 3.0, however there is no confirmation it is possible either. If you can find undeniable evidence that the Switch can't be hacked past 3.0, please show me.
Note that I said I have found zero confirmation, not that there is zero confirmation. My lack of understanding may just because I didn't research hard enough.

Anything past-3.0.1 will require higher-level compromises on higher firmwares whether that be for CFW or in a spoofed firmware.
Thats the thing that worries me.
i want my cake and eat it too. and with the current information i could gather it seems like that you can get homebrew (and potentially backup loaders) for everything 3.0 and below. but will loose the ability to play newer games. and IF theres a way to play higher firmware games it allways requires a new entry point to be found. Thats why i probably will update with the next physical game i buy (mario or skyrim)

The thing is there's no evidence that switch fw greater than 3.0.0 can be homebrewed. So we are working with what we know so far. You'd be stupid if you want homebrew and choose a 3.0.2 switch over a 3.0.0 one.

my luck that i'm on 3.0.1 since i dont want my switch hacked
if i would be able to use it with the current version then i would instantly use it because i always have to hack every console thats hackable on the current fw. dunno why

That's what I said. And I'm not planning on buying a 3.0.2 system, I already have one. I accidentally updated it.

it's not that it's impossible (nothing is unhackable!), but there are no known exploits for 3.0.1+, so it will take a long time.

Yeah, that was my thought. The only thing I can do is hope. I think I'm gonna leave my Switch at 3.0.2 for now to see if anything comes up later on in the year ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It won't happen. If we see a 3.0.2 ACE exploit within the next 6 months, I'll eat my hat.
