Homebrew Paying for games

Hello all I recently modded my 3Ds but feel guilty for downloading games I haven’t actually payed for.
Like 90% of the games on my modded 3Ds I have physical copies of or have bought on the eshop over the years but certain titles I haven’t like all the Kirby games and kid Icarus uprising, is there any way to delete the game and pay for it would I have to format the whole system it’s linked to my Nintendo switch account with is basicly the only way to add funds any more? Am I screwed or is there anyway to pay for a game I already downloaded?

No need to format the system. Do the following:

Delete the game,
delete the game's ticket through FBI,
buy the game. I believe you can still do this on their website for 3DS titles, but if not, add necessary funds on your linked Nintendo Switch account and then buy the game on the 3DS.

Don't forget to backup the game's save file if you have progress
