Apple Passcode locked 3gs

Hi,

I have an iPhone 3GS passcode locked. I want to do itunes restore to unlock it but if I do this I'll lose my carrier unlock.
How can I update it to firmware 4.3.5 without upgrading the baseband? Since I can't access it I don’t know whether its SHSH was saved or not.

For Windows: Use Sn0wbreeze baseband preservation mode.

For Mac OS X: Use PwnageTool's baseband preservation mode

But seeing as you have a 3GS.... Just restore it in iTunes, and use the iPad baseband hack. Since it still works
