This is sort of a continue on from my last thread, you don't need to read it to get this though.

For reference, my partitions are organised like this:

When installing your ubuntu you are replacing the windows bootloader (partially). It resides in part in the mbr which is where grub can install itself too (partially).

Mounting your windows as /windows isn't a problem

Your recovery partition shouldn't be harmed unless you have marked it for deletion or formatting, same as with your main windows partition.

Btw if you install grub you might as well add a line to start your recovery partition while you're at it.

Btw I'd go with ReiserFS, but that's me

Thanks for the help.

In case everything gets stuffed up I have backups if I ever want those recovery partitions back, I'd just format the hard drive and start again (Neglecting Vista).
All the drivers for the laptop are available freely online from the TOSHIBA website so no problem there.

Nic.

doesn't that still have problems with data corruption?

and the author is in prison... so I doubt many bug-fixes are going to be released
The author isn't the only one allowed to work on it (though him being in jail won't be all to great for it no, but that's a while ago...)

, also you don't have to use the latest greatest Reiser (4??). I have been using it since I first started using linux, NEVER had a problem with it in roughly 6 years, that's including the journaling system.

  • NinStar @ NinStar:
are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
i just didint know the homebrew launcher didint exist in aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
