Gaming opinions on using controller companion app

has anyone used controller companion for doing daily googling and etc, from your bed, couch or, from afar??

I want to use a controller based setup once I have set everything up that a keyboard is needed for (not including the rare occasions of needing to go into the bios or installing windows) I wanted to know if anyone has used this software on steam to do things without a mini keyboard/IR remote...
