Could I hypothetically make a gba "game" that points to b9s installer to reinstall it?

maybe, it looks like open_agb_firm doesn't unmap the 3ds FCRAM when going into legacy mode. So you could make a ROM that sets up a framebuffer and loads safeb9sinstaller into an unoccupied part of the FCRAM and then breaks the arm11 out of whatever loop it's in and into running safeb9sinstaller. But, I think you would need to flush the arm11's cache to break it out of its loop, and I don't know how you would do that without undoing stuff, or do it at all for that matter. Your ROM would also have to be over 8 megabits, because if it's that size or below, ram is mirrored in order to support classic NES games.

only issue is i can't exactly code if i can't do anything i was planning on getting a ds lite for gba games anyway so i could just get a flash cart. I could modify a decomp maybe to point to b9s installer?

I'm looking at gba homebrew to see if I can run anything I got Pokemon FIre Red and Emerald to run as if I used the firmware regularly but other gba files havent worked

something's not adding up tbh, because firm1 is supposed to be idle and unused unless explicitly used

you must have overwrote firm0 as well?

either way you put yourself into a situation where you don't really have a choice but to buy a flashcart. the time and skill required to make a gba rom that could manage to essentially exploit the system is way more than the $5 and a couple weeks wait it would take to get the cheapest ntrboot compatible cart online

mate, if you aren't able to code you aren't gonna be able to do anything that you propose here. Just bite the bullet and buy a flashcart.

it looks like it actually may be simple to do it, since safeb9sinstaller can be triggered from multiple exploits it doesn't really make any assumptions about the state of the system when it runs. The only tricky thing would be getting it to actually run.

I know like basic C and python but idk if I could do that myself and I'm getting a flashcart anyway but ty for the help
