so i never went fishing as a kid in the game, now an adult, rode the magic leaf at lake hylia to the fishing house, caught a 12 pound fish expecting either a heart piece or a gold scale (if i remember from the old days haha) but the guy doesnt give me anything?!

whats up with that? did i miss something out or what?

cheers in advance.

It has to be at least 14 pounds for him to give you the Golden Scale, and you can't use the Sinking Lure.

He doesn't give you a Heart Piece as an adult.

You know you can go back in time by putting back the sword in the temple of time? You only need to finish the forest temple.

I can't find the sinking lure, either.
In the other hand, I've found the Hylian Loach, but it was small and I couldn't catch it. It wouldn't even bite my lure.

After you catch (I think it's a 10 pound as a kid and 14 pound as an adult?) the sinking lure appears. You can't see it, but you have to walk over it. It's either on the log sticking out of the water, on the middle of the three rocks near the waterfall (you really have to be ON the rock), at the foot of the waterfall, or around the lillypads.

What's the largest fish anyone's caught?

I caught a really big one that Navi even called a monster ... though in the French version fishes are mesured in lenght. That monster was almost the same height as Link.
