Help.

My MicroSD won't be read by the R4. It just says SD/TF card error when I load it. Wth do I do? I have all my data on there that I didn't back up.

Either re-format or buy a new one.

In the future, keep a backup of the files on your SD

Get over it, they're like 10 bucks.

It can read it, but I try to open it, it prompts me to format. I can't even touch the contents.

EDIT: When I view the properties, it says 0 bytes used and 0 bytes free. Wth?

I've never tried it on an SD but you could see if some data recover program could read it or see if you can ghost it. or even do a live boot into linux and see if that is able to see it and read it. How old is it? You could possible send it in under warranty but unless you can recover the data there is not to much else you can do.

When you're done putting stuff on your SD Card from your PC, do you just pull it out, or do you use the "Safetly remove hardware"-option on your lower right in Windows XP?

If NOT stuff like this can happen; loss of data i actually the most common thing to happen to your hardware, if you're not using the safety-program-thing.

I rarely used it until the excat sme thing happend to me

Sometimes I safely remove it, some times I just pull it out. Now I am suspecting my adapter. >:(

Yep, thats your problem.

You can easily corrupt your MicroSD by not using the "Safely Remove Hardware" on your computer.

I've always used it for my MicroSDs and they've turned out fine.

Just format it, there's probably no chance in hell you're gonna get your files back.

If you like to hotswap your microSD out of your computer, make sure nothing is reading or writing to it. Also, defragment it fairly often.

EDIT: This includes having an explorer window open if you're using windows.

Wait, so defragging my microSD card is recommended?

So would I format then defragment? Or leave all my files on, and defrag?

Yeah, I had no idea we were supposed to defrag microSDs so please be patient with me hehe.

It happened to me before with my old MiniSD card. The problem is I just pull it out after I'm done.

But if this happen, I just pulled it out, then put it back in. In a couple of times, it works again. If it won't, then you might need to change the adapter, or try different slots on your computer. Or change computers.

I had the same problem. But I always removed my SD card safely. It was a 2gb Kingston Japan. I was starting up a game, and the screen kept being white. Eventually I turned it off and I couldn't read my SD card anymore.

So nowadays I keep backups, since I don't want to lose my stuff again.
