Hardware old gamepad busted on haxchii unit

so let me back up a little about 4+ months ago my gamepad met with an unfortionate end (my ps4 fell on top of it cracking the screen to the point of being unusable) my wii U has the ds haxchii exploit which as you know you cant format it without removing the hax first or you'll brick my question is if i buy a repacement gamepad can i just sync that one and remove the old pairing w/o resetting it?

just remember the gamepad is the only wii u controller that's region locked, so make sure you buy one from your region. there's supposed to be a way around it with system config tool, but that might be dangerous and/or overcomplicate the situation.

Just get a new one and sync it no probs.... As Godreborn says tho, get the same region as your console.
