Hacking Old 3DS System update - Is it safe?

I happen to have a Modded O2DS With Luma and FBI. I'm worried about updating from Sys 11.9.0-42U to whatever is higher than it. I wanna know if my Luma will survive etc. Sorry if this is stupid lol

    If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction
