Hacking Old 3DS, question about softmodding

So i got an old 3DS, meaning i bought it ages ago and didn't open it till now.
It's one of those "Zelda limited edition" and it has the firmware: Ver. 2.1.0-4E

I haven't connected it to the internet as i assume it might break my chances of a softmod.
So i wonder, how should i go about, is it just to start with: https://3ds.guide/get-started
Or is it too old and need some other route etc?

Noticed i didn't have to use internet etc though to transfer my Mii from Wii to Wii U though, but if i decide to use it i will softmod it using that guide.
