I installed the GEN-A CFW for ChickHEN R2 on my PSP3000 successfully, or so it seems. Everything seems... the same. So I have CFW... now what? How do I install games? (I'll download them myself, no ISO/CSO sites necessary) I have a PSX emulator and a PSX game or two (Dino Crisis and Chrono Cross... and I plan on getting FF7), but how do I put them on my memory stick? Same with PSP ISO/CSOs... once I have them, how do I set them up?

Please help, I'd really appreciate it.

read the stickies

it's all in there

basically iso's go in the iso folder

everything else goes in /psp/game

Just put a folder called ISO on the root of the memory stick and just put the games in there. For PS1 games, just do what Tikker said and put them in. Just dont rename them from eboot.php.

Got it. Thanks! Now I need a bigger memory stick...

8 gigs won't be enough, but it'll have to do. I currently have a 4 gig stick. 16 gigs just costs too much.

max size for a umd is 1,7gb, so with a 2gb stick you can play any game.

of course a larger stick means more games to take with you...

My point exactly, lenselijer. I want more than one game with me, and several PSX games as well. Not to mention my movies.... A 16 gig memstick seems to be like $200-$300 for a MagicGate compatible one. I'll get the 8 gig memstick (from Sony) for $50.

I would suggest getting one of the memory stik adapters that allow a microSD card to be inserted into them. Much cheaper.

why are people convinced they need one that has MAGIC GATE!?

Its not essential to have it like that it used to be thought you needed it for IPL injection but I and many others have used NONE Magic Gate cards and they worked fine

If your PSP is already hacked then its not really relevant to actually using it with your PSP for storing games on etc

yea, magic gate is not needed. reformat the memory stick with the psp, and it will put in the iso folders and stuff...

DX memory card works great, but my first one died in a year, still it was worth it.

What are the cons of not having MagicGate then? I mean, what about saving game saves, loading games from the memstick, and watching videos? Will all that be the same speed, or will I have a little lag from time to time?

I just guess most people have no idea what MagicGate is.
MagicGate is copy protection. I guess you'll not have it anymore..? There is a difference if you are using pandora battery hacks but I think that is it, and only for enabling the service mode to flash.
MagicGate has the potential to slow down a read or write but not speed it up. I doubt it makes any performance difference really.
See wikipedia for more.

Well, all I have drilled into my head is Pandora battery + PSP3000 = brick. I suppose MagicGate really won't be needed then. Still, how will the speed be affected from a DX memstick? Will I notice any slowdown?

i really suggest not getting a non-magicgate (fake) memorystick.

I've seen alot of problems like a 8gb stick with only 4gb space?
and also corrupt savegames and iso files not working.

Get a genuine Sony or Samsung memorystick, aka in the store and NOT ebay.

Sandisk 16gb is 80 euros (112usd) here.

I dont know how well these microsd adapters are since i never tested them.
but i dont think they are magicgate compatible either.

Pandora Battery + PSP 3000 doesn't equal brick so undrill that info now. Your biggest issue with DX sticks is likely to be corruption. It's impossible to estimate speeds of a fake MS since they're not standardised...some are fast, some are slow...all are dodgy!

Yeah Can second that for I one I've tried it! .....

My Pandora + my magic mem stick + 3000 = DIDDLY,ZERO,NOTHING,NADA, NO WORKIE etc etc just does nothing at all!

Got it. So either way, it is useless in a PSP3000, yeah? From the sounds of things it's the luck of the draw with fake memsticks. I think I'll just go the safe road and buy a real Sony 8 gig stick. 8 gigs should be plenty. I mean, I already have 3 PSP games and 3 PSX games (along with emulators and homebrew) on a 4 gig stick. Doubling that would enable more games and I could finally put my movies back on.
