I got home and my sister was lying at the side of the house, looking kind of out of it. I tried helping her up but her legs weren't really working...
I thought it might be drugs (she's 17), and I called the cops. They got here and asked me questions about what happened because my parents were at a concert, and then took her to the hospital. My parents just got out of the concert and called. It turns out she either had a stroke or seizure, and that I saved her life. She still can't talk, but she can write. She also doesn't have as much feeling on the left side of her body now.

My mom had a stroke at 4 a.m. 2 years ago, luckily I was awake (on the internet

) and called the police - but it didn't help much. She died the next night. You're lucky your sister is alive, some strokes can mean death...anyways, I'll be prayin' for you and your family...

thanks. I can't believe this is happening. I just got home from my friend's house and we were working on an assignment, then I saw her. I guess I don't really have to finish that assignment, because this isn't exactly a generic excuse like "the dog ate my homework" or "the rabbit bit my printer cable".

I had a Grandfather who died from someone's baseball bat when we were walking. I was about 6 or 7 at that time. I thought they were playing around, but it turns out it was basically a Hit-and-Run. :'(

If I were there right now, I'd chase that guy down and beat him down to the floor.

How can you be sure she'll be fine? she had a stroke or seizure. She's now awake and coherent, but can't talk. The last thing she remembers is before I even found her (even though she looked awake when I found her). About 2 hours before that.

Well good work in saving your sister. Sometimes strokes can cause permanent damage but all of us pray for your sister to be healed... maybe it's temporary since the problem was big but after the weakness wears off, she might be okay again

That's not _THAT_ big a deal; I mean it could have been worse. It wasn't a car accident or anything.

brings back memories of a guy who OD, me and bunch of other friends ditched him and called 911. yea i know i was a asshole but anyhow he didnt care besides he said he'd do the same damn thing to us when he was in the hospital. also something about the nurses and doctors stealing his wallet and and his lucky rolling paper. he OD because he grabbed a handfull of random pills and swallowed it.

I'm sorry to hear the news, I hope she turns out alright. Lucky you were there, my dad would probably be alive today if somebody had been around when he had his stroke. Again I hope your sister regains full use of her body, I have a good friend who had a stroke and though it took a while he came back to almost a hundred percent. He has to use a cane now, but he has a different and much better view on life.
