I just played the EUR releases on my PAL WiiU:
Super Mario World 3D (Initial loading slow, level loading not to bad)
Toads Treasure Hunt (Fine)
DK Tropical Freeze (Fine)

All working fine on my 32GB Class10/UHS-1 Samsung Evo.

Note:
I haven't even played SSB4 (disc) yet, but I do have installed the 2GB update.

Donkey Kong tropical freeze does not work ether
This error only appears if you don't have the right folders in your _SAV folder. The game can't access the save folder and because of this it displays this error. Please read the manual again carefully.

you run with loadiine server for info?

I have included what I got from my log here.
(There was nothing logged, never even connected)

  • Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze EU v17 works fine on my EU console
  • Captain Toad Treasure Tracker EU v16 works fine on my EU console
I've played both games for 60+ minutes, saves work fine, too.
not sure why others have problems with this games... maybe not updated or incomplete/bad dumps, missing files, incompatible SD card...?

They likely have the nuked DKTF and wrong region captain toad. Just a guess.

How long did it take for yours to load, and did you merge update data in with it? I tried my copy once last night but just got a black screen after about 5 minutes. I'm going to try again without the update tonight.

Instant load with merged update data. Worth setting up the logger if you are having those kind of issues as it can help you tell if loading crashed, never started, or froze. If it freezes investigate where it froze because small files take forever and the logger only shows the root folder not the individual files loading. Wonderful101 loads like 4500 to memory in about 30 minutes for example and SM3DW is another game with many small files that take a while to 'cache' to the WiiU. Card speed makes very little difference with these titles.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I tried it without the update i had from uwizard and now it works fine!

Did you have the TV on? Mine only showed that screen but hitting - would toggle between 'gamepad' and 'tv' modes, so you could actually play only on the gamepad or split-screen with TV. Seems like you got the helper menu for the TV mode.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
