There's no need to uninstall. If you installed everything with the latest HackMii-Installer, it will survive every Update that is out currently. Nintendo also won't ban you, etc. The only thing they'll try to do is to remove it with an Update, they won't do more than delete it in the worst case.

use CSG to update to 4.2 and install latest shop channel without needing to uninstall anything.

That's overkill for a shop channel update. Use the latest WiiSCU or DOP-mii to install Shop Channel and IOS61 (don't apply patches to this!!).
