Here is the official DS iplayer suggestion thread, a list will be compiled and the iplayer team will check it for updates.

IMPROVEMENTS FOR CART

MKV Video Support
Equalizer When listening to music ( Like Windows Media Player )
Use extra CPU for homebrew - ADDED
Change Audio style eg, Stereo, Headphones Mono
Read audio ID3 Tags
Play TXT and Audio at same time (E-Book)
Left Right Audio, play only from left, or only from right for RMVB files
Changing Functions of Buttons ( Re-Mapping )
1.4 DSi Support - ADDED
ROM loading since Nintendo Blocked DSi Support thinking it was an illegal flashcart !
Playlist support.
Loop video/audio playback.
Inbuilt Picture viewer (bmp, jpg, gif, png)
Subitle Support - ADDED
Folder Support

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

Troubleshooting on the website
Release The SDK, a plugin lets you use this for homebrew but noeone will be able to without the source code.

How did you contact them, because I never managed to contact them. Not sure why... I had a few suggestions to email to them, no reply.

Anyways:
- Left/right audio channel selection, play only left, or only right, etc for rmvb files.

He probably meant using the iplayer itself.. he did said "inbuilt" picture viewer...
since iPlayer is a multimedia player in nature i guess it would be logical to put picture viewer as well..
other than going to homebrew and boot up moonshell to open a photo..

EDIT: For me, NDS rom loader compatibility is good

although i highly doubt that they're going to make an update for that..

Add support and troubleshooting info to their WWW site.

I have not gotten mine to work on two different DSlites and have followed their instructions to the letter.

This could be a great product.
