Just to clarify, I do not need to do anything special do I. Simply place the new launcher.dat into my SD card and be done. Unlike the N3DS?

Thanks

and if you have the microsd manager CIA installed just swap the launcher connecting the 3ds to the pc and then go to sysnand and back to gw mode for the new launcher to load :)

Whaaah?

I know we can use LAUNCHER.DAT, but we don't get the SETTINGS entry like the N3DSXL does, right?

Getting tired of using browser (well, sort of). But for launching Gateway, rxTools, AND RAM2SAN injection, my little browser is starting to feel its age...

I wish we could use rxTools to push a custom Launch icon to sysNAND for GW. That would be nice.

Settings entry is only for 4.x sysnand. You could downgrade your sysnand using gateway. It worked for me.

Then I'd break all my savedata... (although I could do it)

Isn't there some way to make a launcher button icon in sysNAND?

On O3DS, if you have a 4.5 sysnand, you can install the NVRAM code to no longer need to install the DS exploit with the bluecard.

I thought there was a way to run Gateway without using Red Cart... doesn't that do it?

I didn't realise you could do this. So that would mean that the 3ds is always ready to enter gateway mode through system settings? Even if you play a ds game?
Appreciate any info!

I thought the NVRAM thing was the same as the DS exploit with a different way to install. So yes you do not need the Blue card to install but playing a DS game removes it.

I did not test, but what I know is that everytime I shutdown my O3DS, I can directly boot in Gateway mode without using the blue card.
I have a downgraded 4.5 console, can you explain about the NVRAM please.

When you launch the DS exploit, in the Gateway menu (maintaining L), there is a new option "Install NVRAM" (or something like that). You just have to use that to install the NVRAM code.
