Swizzy has released an update for NXE2GOD, based on the abandoned project from Team XeDev and the source code of Dstruktiv.

Since the release of 16719, MS allowed you to format 32GB USB drives to 32GB FATX drives.
This can be used to make game installs on newer dashes (NXE installs)
But people have been unable to easily convert them to a GOD.

With the release of NXE2GOD 1.2, this problem is fixed.

NXE2GOD 1.2
———–

***************
* What is it? *
***************
NXE2GOD is a tool to convert NXE installs (Game Disc installs in NXE or newer) to GOD (Games On Demand)
Basically what this means is that we remove the need for the disc to be in the DVD Drive to play the game

- Dstruktiv – Thanks for making the original and releasing your source code!
- Anyone else that has helped with the project in any way

* Install Notes *

In the release there is 2 packages, one for XEX and another for LIVE, the LIVE one is meant for installs
to device:\Content\0000000000000000\FFFF0055\00080000\ which allows you to start it straight from dash!

The XEX Version is meant for those of you wanting to create your own live package, or simply wish to run it from USB

+ Fixed bug with leaving the 00004000 directory, it’ll now be deleted like everything else
+ Font is now embedded, no need for Media folder and shit
- Removed backup crap, if you need it, you can read the original source code and add it back
+ Lot’s of code cleanup!

I am not entirely sure how useful this is for those rocking hacked systems (if using USB it is probably better to extract the iso wholesale and go that way) but more features are certainly welcome.

Forgive me for being extremely noob on this subject (I've never given a second thought to homebrew on my xbox before).

Can this be run without any cfw on my system and on the latest firmware? (Jasper unit -- date 10/2008)
Please go easy on me. :lol:

Nope.
You'll need a hardware hack.

In your case, a DGX to retrieve the CPU Key and a Coolrunner 3 to glitch the box.
You also need a JRunner programmer to dump/write the NAND and write the Coolrunner ;]

Actually, DGX doesn't support phat consoles yet... he'll have to wait for the release of that, unless there is something I've missed?
