Hey!

So recently I bought a New Nintendo 3DS XL and I'm looking to buy a game cartridge so I can play games. I have however been scammed twice on two different websites trying to buy a r4 card. I really don't know much about what card is best to buy and what the reputable sellers are.

Any advice on which card to buy and where I can buy one legit would be very helpful.

Thanks for your time :)

Quick Guide through the seven seas:
1. Is your System in 9.2 version or lower? Yes go 2. else go 3.
2. Get your Gateway/Sky3DS/Other card or try CFW. Go to the spoiler for CFW Things
3. Get your Sky3DS+ card or don't do anything.

1. Is your System in 9.0-9.2? Yes go 3. else go 2.
2. Stay there or update to 9.0-9.2 with sysupdater (/ ! \ Go with caution here)
3. Follow procedure to install Rxtools Emunand in your system
4. Unlink nands (format sysnand and reinstall rxtools)
5. Is your system OLD or NEW? If old update your emunand in system settings if new update to 9.5 with sysupdater.
6. Install cia installer of choice in emunand.
7. Grab your parrot, your wooden leg and your eyepatch, sing a couple of rum songs and navigate to sunset in a little boat.

Thanks for the help guys, so I'm currently running ver. 10.3.0 which means time to buy a skylander card right?

Which sellers in the uk are legit to buy the skylander card?

First of all, it's not Skylander, it's Sky3DS
Secondly, any moment now the new version of Sky3DS is going to come out, named Sky3DS+
I'd suggest waiting for that to come out and purchase it so you can play all the games you need
Thirdly, You're going to need a microSD card to hold your games. My favourite are the Samsung EVO microSD cards, because I've had them for an entire year and they haven't let me down. People also seem to suggest Sandisk microSD cards, and those seem fine as well (I have an 8GB one).
Fourth and last, the list of real and legit resellers that ship the product are on the manufacturer's page, in this case, The Sky3DS page
My personal recommendation would be http://www.3dscarduk.com/ since I used them in the past and they sucessfuly shipped me a Gateway card with no problems (You will not want to buy a Gateway card in your case, but a Sky3DS one). *
Please note that the site stocking Sky3DS cards is currently shipping the older Blue Button model. Like I said, I'd suggest waiting for the Orange Button model to come out.

*: Well, not without a hitch. I'd suggest reading these posts:

Thirdly, with this card there is no cheats, no homebrew, no region-unlocking, none of that. This card is meant to copy a real retail cardtridge down to the finest detail. That means that you can't bypass a retail catrdridge's limitations.

ignore this part sky3ds gives you cubic ninja, cbuic ninja gives you ninjhax, ninjhax will let you go most all these things

Oh right, I forgot there have been advancements in the CFW community and have managed to get it running above 9.2
i never said he can install cfw dont put words in my mouth

with this card there is no cheats
save file editing
no homebrew,
ninjhax
no region-unlocking
is that not what hans is for?

ok . . . so all retail games allow you to play emulators on your 3ds ?!?!??!?

Thanks again for the info :) they already have the sky3ds+ for sale so I'm gonna go for that one http://www.3dscarduk.com/sky3ds-c-21/

I've got a few micro sd cards so I'll use one I've already got.

Thanks again for all the help and when I receive my 3ds+ card I'll let you know how I get on :)
